Having made the Sewing therapy tie dress in cotton, I thought I’d try it in a knit fabric. I knew I should go down a size or two, but the whole point of this dress is that it can be fitted or very loose, so I didn’t go to the trouble of resizing it.

Not a lot extra to say about this one as it’s the same pattern as the last post, but it is very different in this cotton and silk knit, which has the most amazing feel, and which I bought several years ago from Knitwit Fabrics. I have made so many things from this fabric in all different colourways and this was the last piece in my stash.

I think this dress looks much better tied in the middle rather than at the sides, and I’m not sure why.
It’s fantastic for layering, it was too cold to take photos without a top under it, but I also put my sneaky shrug over the top and it was perfect.

I have to say that I really enjoy wearing this dress, it has a secret pyjama vibe, so easy to wear and so comfortable. I am already planning a summer version.
I thought this photo of Miss G having a tea party with some of the gang was quite cute. She’s visiting in her pyjamas – her Dad was in charge!
