Fibremood edition 29 has been released and this time I chose two patterns, Dasha wide legged trousers and Ines, which is a cropped top.

I thought these two would make a fun summer outfit and might even be able to be layered for cooler weather. I had a dig in my stash and found some dark brown cotton twill, the provenance of which I’m slightly unsure, but I think it may have come from Sarah. Anyway, I had just enough fabric for the two pieces.
The Dasha trousers are based on the hip measurement, and then are graded out to the waist. My pattern pieces looked ridiculous so I went for an 8 and sized up to a 12. This was a big mistake, these trousers were huge – everywhere! I tried my best to rework them, but at the end of the day all I could do was take them in by 8cms on each side and then make the front pleats twice as big. They fit well now but they are really, really wide, and I don’t mind at all!
I made the trousers first and even managed to wear them – with a heavy cardigan! You can see how wide those legs are!

Having successfully worn the Dasha trousers, I made the Ines top. I decided I didn’t want to flash my midriff every time I moved awkwardly, which is quite often, so I lengthened the bodice by 5cm, but now I think I should have only added 2.5cm. It’s just that the front gathered part sticks out a bit.

The Ines is a really nice shape with cuffed extended shoulders, an elasticated waist at the back and gathered at the front on a waistband.

I can lift my arms with impunity which is nice.

I think these two garments go so well together.

A seated shot.

I layered the top and quite like it this way too. Some daft poses as I try to show off the attributes of both patterns!

I am wearing necklaces that I knitted in most of these photos.
And to finish, a photo which made me very excited! She’s too little to be coordinated but she really wanted to try.
