Fibremood Harper

I saw a version of this blouse on SheilaSewsHerClothes Instagram account, where she’d made it from a striped knit. I immediately wanted one and Sheila suggested we sew it as part of the April Amigos challenge on Magamsewalong.

I had a dig in the stash and found some striped French Terry in two colourways. I can’t remember where I bought this fabric but it’s lovely.

I tossed up which colour to put where and I’m really happy with my choice.

I used a Sewing Friends label and sewed it to the sleeve.

Here I am trying to pose like Sheila. You can see that hers looks quite different from mine. We both added cuffs, but Sheila added deeper cuffs and a wider neckband. Hers sits closer to the body too, which I suspect is because she used a drapier fabric.

I added quite a big button at the back, black and white in a checkerboard pattern, which reminds me of some fabric I had in the 1960s.

Finally a photo of Miss G with her dog.
