So we had the day where I kept adding clothes and today I had to duck into bathrooms to remove them! It was 16° today (Sunday), but it was warm, and I had worn thick tights, a silk top under this cotton top and assorted other jumpers.

Our conference started today and we walked to the Karalinksa Institute where it is being held and came across this beautiful doorway. I am totally besotted by all the pink granite buildings here, and add a fabulous doorway and I’m smitten! The nice thing about the walk is that it took us through residential areas which abound with beautiful parks.

I really love rhododendrons – must be my English roots – so couldn’t resist this photo in a little park on the way to the university.This is a crofter’s cottage on the university grounds and it is delightful. You can imagine a family farming this land. On the other side of me is the tithe barn in the same style, but with an amazing tree that has grown round the corner!

My top is a cotton/spandex blend from Potter’s Textiles (I think) and it was a 20 minute make. I used the StyleArc Susan pattern which I changed a bit – I raised the neckline and made it longer and rounded the bottom just to use all the fabric. I didn’t bother finishing any of the edges as they just roll under. It’s a really comfy top to wear and is perfect for travel.
