Silk Scout

As you can tell, I am having a run on the Grainline Scout tees. I had this piece of silk left over from another project (as yet unblogged), so I used it to make this long sleeved t-shirt.

It took about 2 hours to make, and I used the long sleeve tutorial to extend the sleeves. This was a rather imprecise science as I was by myself and was trying to measure the length of my arms and the size of my wrists, but I didn’t do too badly.

I also made the shirt about 4cms longer than the pattern so I could wear it nicely with pants (but forgot to photograph this)

There’s not a lot to say about this shirt, it’s easy to make and even easier to wear. The fabric, however, is lovely. It is a quite heavy pure silk with a suitably gaudy pattern on it. It teams well with my pencil skirt, and looks good with jeans.

Details, details: This is the Grainline Scout Tee with long sleeve variation from silk bought at Potter’s Textiles, teamed with my self-drafted pencil skirt. The leather belt was a gift from my friend Sophie, and the ankle boots are PK.

  1. The colours in this top are beautiful – definately one of my favourite. The whole outfit looks amazing.
