Dropped stitch top and pattern

You will remember when I posted my any colour top that I promised that I would put up a pattern for a modified version. Well here it is! Dropped stitch top

I’ve also created a page which is accessible from the top menu.DSC07905

When I was knitting it I was nervous that the neck wouldn’t be big enough for my head – look at it!!

If I look at the top pre being worn, it looks quite small. It grew during the day…

I have to confess that I felt like I was knitting a large barrel the whole time this was going on, but it worked out ok. I also didn’t think to take photos as I went as it seemed so easy. It was only as I was writing out the instructions that I thought it might have been nice to have had some photos. I might have to host a knitalong!!

So, this is knitted in the round and has no seaming at all. The shoulders are grafted using Kitchener stitch and then the top becomes reversible (the instructions for grafting can be found in the pattern notes). Not sure that this is that desirable, but it might be nice for a change.

I made mine a bit shorter than is stated in the pattern. I am pretending that this was deliberate, but in fact it is the result of dodgy measuring whilst going along in the car (as a passenger!).

The details:

Pattern: self-written available at the top of the page.

Yarn is Filatura di Crosa Fancy Tempo. I used four balls
