This dress is made from some very ’60s reminiscent fabric I bought from the Fabric Cave in Sydney last year. It’s a lovely cotton with a sheen on it, and I had absolutely no idea what to make with it, but couldn’t resist buying a metre or two (at $1 a metre, how could anyone resist??).
I finally thought that the Gabby dress from Tessuti might be just the thing. It is the perfect dress for wearing when doing housework, or even for walks when it’s hot. So that’s what I’ve made.
I added pockets for my phone, money, whatever.
The obligatory back view, slightly fuzzy
This is a dress that I will get a great deal of wear from, especially in high summer when anything too tight becomes a bit unbearable.
The details:
Fabric is cotton (polished cotton?) from the Fabric Cave in Sydney
Pattern is the Gabby dress from Tessuti with added pockets
love this dress, Sue. so cool and fresh looking and looks great on you! What a bargain at $1/metre!
Yes, it was a bargain! Bit young for me really, but I only wear it round the house.
