Today the latest edition of Tauko Magazine (Ed 20) has been released and I chose to make the Allyn undies as I am in desperate need of new undies and am always up to try a new pattern. They are designed by Nikki Griffin, and are a very quick make.
The main difference about these undies is that they are in one piece, cut on the fold. This really appealed to me, until I discovered that, being very short waisted, they were ridiculously long in the body. Here is my first pair with a pair of my other undies on the top for comparison. I also made them the wrong size, as you can see from the width! I did cut them right down, but I now have seams where I didn’t want them!

Undeterred, I had a second go, folding out 10cm from the length and going down two sizes, and I was getting closer! I could probably go down to a size 1 as these are a 2. I decided to wear this pair to test them for comfort.

No modelled photos, but it’s hard to see, but they are wider in the front, which looks odd but doesn’t impinge on my comfort.
I made two more pairs, reducing the front crotch width each time. Still looking wide!

I was going to make some fancy ones with lace, but ran out of time. I will do this once I’ve perfected the fit, but in the meantime I have four new pairs of perfectly wearable undies.

and yes, I’m still harvesting Calvin Klein elastic!
We still have Pepper and I found her on the sofa with her head on one of my indigo dyed cushions, She looked cold even though she was in the sun, so I wrapped her in a towel. This is how I found her at varieous points in the afternoon.

Have I ever mentioned that she’s not supposed to get on the furniture??
