Tiny Scout Tee

This top was from a tiny piece of fabric that I bought when I fell off the stashbusting wagon a couple of weeks ago. It is a lovely, soft silk and I had a choice of mixing it with something or making a simple, short top. I opted for the Scout Tee.

There’s not a lot to say about this top. I French seamed it all, cobbled together binding for the neck, and managed to squeeze the hems out of the allowed (ridiculously small) 1/2 inch.

The top is a bit shorter than I would have liked, but I had less than a metre, and as usual, the fabric wasn’t cut straight (sigh!), so I was manoeuvring (and shortening) pattern pieces to fit.

Here I have teamed it with the pink linen pants, but it also looks amazing with the kermit skirt. In fact, it looks so good with green that I nearly put the green linen and this silk together in a dress, but just couldn’t decide on a pattern. This way is, I think, more versatile.
