Itch-to-Stitch Tierra Joggers

Regular readers may remember an earlier post where I talked about Kennis Wong, the designer behind the Itch-to-Stitch label, being robbed whilst she was on holiday. As a result, some of her most ardent fans have been conducting an Itch-to-Stitch love tour where they have been showcasing their most recent makes and inviting people to participate for prizes. All the people participating in the tour have posted their wonderful makes, but there has also been an invitation for non-participants to make something new as well. You don’t have to ask me twice!

One of my favourite patterns is the Tierra woven joggers, and judging by the comments in my giveaway recently, it’s popular with many of my followers. I wanted a light, linen summer pair, so had a rummage in the stash and came up with some off-white linen and got sewing.

I have made quite a few pairs of these now (here, here and here, and several unblogged pairs), and they are a quick and easy make.

I have worn these a few times since I made them and tried to take photos to show how versatile they are. They coordinate well with both wovens and knits, and I particularly like them with my silk shirt.

One of the things I always need to get used to with these trousers is the fact that they are essentially baggy. I like trousers to fit me perfectly round the hips, but joggers need to be slouchy and this is what makes them so comfortable. There is an option to put a cuff on the bottom, but I rarely do this, as without it I feel the Tierra’s can move from super casual to slightly formal.

This top is a hack of Burda 7866, first made more than four years ago! I have never blogged this hack, which I shall remedy at some point.

I am now off to make the Itch-to-Stitch Paulina top, which is a new to me pattern, so I shall be back quite soon to tell you what I think.

  1. I am new to your blog and am so glad I found it! What a joy to have found this pattern as I have been looking for a good woven pants pattern and this is it, I will be buying it now. I love your joggers! One thing I noticed is the pockets don’t bag out, which bugs me no end when they do. I also am a fan of the lower waist. Your pants are lovely. I am off to buy the pattern…

  2. Great styling for your new Tierra “not-so-joggers” iteration. They look very elegant on you. And thanks for flagging up mooglii on IG – her gallery is awesome!
