A plethora of Japanese knot bags!

As you may know, I hosted November’s sewalong for Japanese knot bags and this is the roundup of all the wonderful bags which have been made around the world.

We’ve seen lots of WIP shots, here is Dawn’s

Dawn’s WIP

a child sized bag by Elinor

Andrea produced this beautiful bag.

Sonja made a bag from this gorgeous embroidered fabric

A date night bag by Sharon

Sharon’s bag ready for a big night out!

Great pattern matching in Trish’s bag

This bag is made from a tea towel. What a great idea! The other side is even more attractive but I couldn’t load it for some reason.

Some gorgeous flamingo fabric

How about this bag? Susan did all the embroidery. Just exquisite.

Marieke made this gorgeous brocade bag.

Rosemary is intending to use her bags in lieu of wrapping paper – how cool is that?

Another gorgeous piece of fabric from Jewel.Rosemary also made this bag – this is the inside, which she tie-dyed.

and this is the outside, which she embroidered sashiko style

Lori persevered with my dodgy instructions to produce this rather gorgeous bag

Andrea recycled a stunning top with rather awkward pattern placement. I’m so glad she was able to turn something unwearable into something so lovely

Another child’s bag from Elinor

Lovely pattern placement from Kathy

Heather squeaked it in with this lovely bag

she very cleverly recycled a zipped pocket from a thrift store bag.

Last, but certainly not least, here is Dawn’s exquisite silk bag with free hand machine embroidery. This really makes me think of a Japanese kimono!

This is as many bags as I could find for the roundup. If I have missed one (or more), please let me know and I shall amend the post.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the sewalong. I hope you go on to make many more bags and you continue to enjoy the pattern.

And finally, have a look at this one from Elizabeth Suzann (thanks to my follower Hélène for this link), which may inspire you to make more 🙂
