A plethora of Japanese knot bags!

As you may know, I hosted November’s sewalong for Japanese knot bags and this is the roundup of all the wonderful bags which have been made around the world.

We’ve seen lots of WIP shots, here is Dawn’s

This bag is made from a tea towel. What a great idea! The other side is even more attractive but I couldn’t load it for some reason.

Rosemary is intending to use her bags in lieu of wrapping paper – how cool is that?

Lori persevered with my dodgy instructions to produce this rather gorgeous bagLori

Andrea recycled a stunning top with rather awkward pattern placement. I’m so glad she was able to turn something unwearable into something so lovelyandrea

Last, but certainly not least, here is Dawn’s exquisite silk bag with free hand machine embroidery. This really makes me think of a Japanese kimono!

This is as many bags as I could find for the roundup. If I have missed one (or more), please let me know and I shall amend the post.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the sewalong. I hope you go on to make many more bags and you continue to enjoy the pattern.

And finally, have a look at this one from Elizabeth Suzann (thanks to my follower Hélène for this link), which may inspire you to make more 🙂

  1. What an amazing and gorgeous array of Japanese Knot bags. well done to all the creative sewers! A feast for the eyes! Thank you for sharing.

  2. All the bags are lovely, and so diverse! Thanks for the Sewalong and for showing all the bags. I will definitely be making more! (inspired by some of those others, and your own!).

      1. Well I have already sized down your pattern for an evening bag. If I get time, I will make it this weekend, and put it on my Flickr account. I must load some self-made clothes on there as well!

  3. Your now famous Japanese bag has spread all over the sewing community. These are so diverse and cute. Bravo to all makers and many thanks to you!
