An evening Bronte

This is yet another fabric I’ve had languishing in my stash for quite a while and thought it would make a perfect Bronte top. I was attracted to the paisley design and in fact bought two pieces of this fabric – this grey and a black one, still to be converted to something wearable.DSC00144

It was my birthday so I wore it out to dinner with the family and felt that it fitted the occasion perfectly.

I originally made this top a couple of sizes larger because I was worried that it didn’t have enough stretch but it was miles too big and it still had the drag lines that I’ve got on this one. I had to take it all in. I think if I make another of these, it will only be from really stretchy fabric. Having said that, it was really comfortable to wear and I know that it will go into my regular rotation.

The details: Jennifer Lauren Vintage Bronte top in a paisley silver knit from Knitwit. Skirt is boiled wool that I’ve had for year. The necklace was a Christmas gift from my friend Suzanne.
