These white pants are Vogue 8859 – a Marcy Tilton design and so, so nice.
I’ve teamed them here with my Dreams of Snails scarf top.
And here with my tiny Scout tee
and the back view. These pants fit really well because the top half of the back is cut off grain.
They also go well with my other Scout tee, and my Sorbetto tank (no decent photos of this)
This is only the second time I have made these pants – but I don’t know why because it’s a fantastic pattern. They take a mere couple of hours to make, with the only bit of matching having to be done at the knee where the back leg seam needs to meet the knee darts. The fabric I used this time is a cotton/spandex mix in cream, bought at the Potter Textiles sale last year.
The details:
Pattern is Vogue 8859
Fabric is cream cotton/spandex mix from Potter Textiles
Shoes are Fiona McGuinness
Teamed with a variety of tops
Pants look very easy to wear and a nice fit too. Snail top still blows me away-stunning!
Thanks Roma. The pants are really comfortable and fit so well.
The cream pants look great with the top, a more casual look than the top with your green skirt – which is more business. You are going to need a dressing room if not now very soon! Tx
Does this pattern require a stretchy fabric, or can the pants be made with a non-stretch? Your post inspires me to get over my fear of making pants for myself, but I don’t have any spandex or stretchy knits.
Hi Angela, No, this pattern requires some serious stretch. I would also like a pattern like this for a woven!
Great pants, great fit. The reason why we sew, no?
Absolutely. I can so recommend this pattern!
