As in the quintessential skirt – or a typical example of skirts currently hanging in my wardrobe.
This is Vogue 1247 which I have made before here, here and here.
This version was made from a piece of rayon/cotton blend left over from a yet to be blogged jacket. I didn’t have quite enough fabric, hence the black band, but I actually like the contrast quite a lot, it breaks up the blue.
I did the usual floating waistband which suits my non-waist much better but for some reason it’s a bit big so I have to keep pulling it up, so I will increase the seam allowance a tad. Once I put the belt on it was ok.
I had been at work all day so was looking a bit dishevelled when these photos were taken.

Belt is self-made from a piece of black elastic and an Art Deco silver buckle
Necklace is ceramic and leather bought in Wellington, NZ

Sue, I particulalry like this version of the skirt. the contrasting black band is super chic against the cobalt blue and I love the colour blocking effect with the black top. This is one of my favourite outfits from your collection. So elegant and so stylish.
