Well, clearly not the setting, but it was a grey old day in Sydney and I was wearing a nondescript grey jumper. We saw on the news that Sydney had had a shocking storm the night before and, whilst we saw all the lightening, we were in our hotel and completely shielded from the hail and rain.
I machine knitted this jumper a couple of years ago. It is my own, very simple, pattern and I have never worked out what to do with the neckline, and have fiddled about with it quite frequently. I am still considering my options, but in the meantime I tend to wear it with a leather vest to give it a bit of finish. I used a Filatura di Crosa cashmere and silk Superior yarn, mixed with some pure cashmere bought from somewhere in the UK (I forget where). It is incredibly soft and incredibly warm. I am looking pleased with myself because I had just been to my favourite button shop in The Rocks and had done a bit of damage on the credit card.
It was a pretty windy day in Sydney…
Pleasingly, Mark was wearing his striped shirt
As previously blogged we were lucky enough to get a view of the opera house from our room
I am dribbling out the posts on Sydney – we haven’t been back and forth as it might appear!
The details:
Jumper is my own design machine knitted from Filatura di Crosa Supreme and a cashmere blend
Leather vest is by Arabella Ramsay
Jeans are Lisa Valli
Necklace is Samantha Wills given to me by my friend T.
This is anything but nondescript, methinks. A lovely stylish (chic Italian looking) jumper. Really like it. Fabulosity.
You are so kind! It really is boring, but feels like heaven thanks to the cashmere.
Cashmere! Looks beautiful and I’ll bet it feels just as beautiful 🙂
I like the neckline – sometimes the most simple garments are the most versatile
Jumper looks great Sue, and being Cashmere, will keep you warm.
so warm, so soft, so light.
