Yes, this dress makes me look just like a Dalmatian dog (thought about trying to get a photo of me with one to show how I might blend in with it), but I do prefer to think that the fabric has pixellated ;).
This quick unpick/seam ripper is in one of our local parks and every time I walk past I want to get a photo with it. Well today was the day!
There are other objects in the park – here is what looks like the scroll and tuning pegs of a cello
Last time I made this dress I struggled to get enough fabric turned over for the elastic casing at the neckline. This time I allowed extra and it worked much better. This style of dress has to be one of the most comfortable I own. Expect to see more!
The dress is made from the Vogue 8592 previously made up here. This fabric is a bit more humdrum in terms of design, but I do love those spots! The fabric is a cotton knit and a bit stiffer than the pima cotton from Astratex so probably doesn’t drape quite as well, but it’s nice to get a different look with the same pattern.
When we called into the park we were on our way back from a friend’s really lovely birthday lunch and were feeling pretty chirpy.
The details:
Fabric is a stretch cotton remnant (what else?) from Knitwit
Pattern is Vogue 8592
Shoes are Django & Juliette from Zomp
Necklace is made from found objects by Sweet Salvaged Designs
I am also wearing a little anchor necklace which Archie bought for me in New York last year.
Love the dots Sue!!! (Have long been an admirer of Cruella Deville’s sartorial choices so am predisposed toward the spotted and monochrome among us). Fab dress! Brava!
Thank you for coming to the birthday lunch, it was lovely to see you both. The dress, and Mark’s shirt, looked great. Love the unpicker in the park – obviously a stitcher involved in that somewhere!
Thank you for having us!
I love it Sue and it is quite ‘jaunty’ – highly suited to all sorts of fabric. Hmmm you might almost have got me interested in whipping up a ‘frock’ for summer in that very same design! Must look through my mega-stash when I get home. xTC
Enjoy Sydney!
I have to say that “frocks” are so easy to wear – only have to think of one thing… The design is great, I think. Hope the trip going well. x
Oh, how did I miss this dress?! I love the polkadotty design! and looks so comfy and easy breezy to wear. hehe, I’ve used that unpicker sculpture thingy in one of my photos once too… it’s irresistible!
